Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account or using FinLearn India, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
By accessing or using FinLearn India (the "Platform"), whether through our mobile application or website at finlearnindia.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and FinLearn India. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
To use FinLearn India, you must:
- Be at least 13 years of age. Users aged 13–17 should have parental awareness of their use of the Platform.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.
- Not be prohibited from using the Platform under any applicable law or regulation.
FinLearn India is intended primarily for users in India. We make no representation that the Platform is appropriate or available for use in other jurisdictions.
To access most features of FinLearn India, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security of your password and not share it with anyone.
- Notify us immediately at hello@finlearnindia.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may not create more than one account per person. Accounts created using automated means or for fraudulent purposes will be terminated.
⚠️ FinLearn India staff will never ask for your password. If you receive a communication requesting your password, it is not from us.
You agree to use FinLearn India only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure.
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access or collect data from the Platform.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any software that could damage our systems.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use the Platform to transmit spam, unsolicited messages, or harassing content.
- Attempt to manipulate the XP, leaderboard, or gamification system in an unauthorised manner.
- Use the Platform in any way that violates applicable Indian laws or regulations.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without prior notice.

6. Not Financial Advice
Important: FinLearn India provides general financial education only. Nothing on our Platform constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or any other professional advice.
The articles, games, simulations, and tools on FinLearn India are designed to illustrate general concepts using simplified, illustrative examples. They do not account for your specific financial situation, goals, risk tolerance, or personal circumstances.
Specifically:
- Game scenarios use fictional characters and simplified numbers — they are not predictions or recommendations for your personal finances.
- Tax information is based on publicly available rules and is for educational purposes only. Always consult a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or tax professional for your specific tax situation.
- Loan and investment comparisons are illustrative. Actual rates, terms, and eligibility vary by lender and individual circumstances.
- The budget tracker is a self-guided tool — it provides no financial recommendations.
Before making any significant financial decision — investing, taking a loan, buying insurance, purchasing property — please consult a qualified financial professional registered with SEBI, IRDAI, or other relevant regulatory bodies.

7. Content and Intellectual Property
All content on FinLearn India — including articles, game designs, quiz questions, illustrations, logos, branding, and code — is owned by or licensed to FinLearn India and is protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
You must not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from FinLearn India without written permission.
- Use our name, logo, or branding for any commercial purpose.
- Create derivative works based on our content without explicit permission.

8. XP, Levels, and Gamification
FinLearn India's XP (experience points), levels, streaks, badges, and leaderboard positions are features designed to encourage learning. They have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or exchanged for any cash, reward, or benefit outside the Platform.
We reserve the right to:
- Modify the XP system, level thresholds, or reward structure at any time.
- Reset XP or progress for accounts found to be gaming the system dishonestly.
- Remove or modify leaderboard positions at our discretion.
Any attempt to artificially inflate XP (e.g., using bots, exploiting bugs, or creating multiple accounts) is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

9. Third-Party Services
FinLearn India uses Supabase for backend infrastructure and authentication. Your use of the Platform is also subject to Supabase's terms of service.
The Platform may contain links to external websites or services for reference or educational purposes. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party websites. Visiting them is at your own discretion and risk.
Any videos linked or referenced in the Platform are hosted on YouTube. Watching those videos is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
FinLearn India is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
We do not warrant that:
- The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
- The content is accurate, complete, up-to-date, or suitable for any specific purpose.
- Any particular educational outcome will be achieved through using the Platform.
Financial information and tax rules change frequently. While we strive to keep our content current, we make no guarantee that all information reflects the latest rules or regulations.

11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FinLearn India and its founders, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform.
- Financial loss resulting from decisions made based on content, games, or tools on the Platform.
- Loss of data, progress, or XP due to technical issues.
- Unauthorised access to your account resulting from your failure to maintain account security.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of FinLearn India shall not exceed ₹500 (five hundred rupees), to the extent permitted by law.
By you: You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to FinLearn India at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the Platform.
Upon termination, your licence to use the Platform ends immediately. Sections 6 (Not Financial Advice), 7 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimer), and 11 (Limitation of Liability) shall survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of FinLearn India shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through direct communication with us at hello@finlearnindia.com.
If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably within 30 days, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
