FinLearn India ("we", "us", or "our") is a financial literacy platform designed for young Indians. We operate the FinLearn India mobile application and the website at finlearnindia.com.

Our platform helps users learn about personal finance through articles, interactive games, daily quizzes, and budget tracking tools — all designed specifically for the Indian financial context.

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the app, and information collected automatically.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Personalisation: To show you articles, games, and content relevant to your learning goals and money concerns.
• Progress tracking: To maintain your XP, level, streak, and completed articles across sessions and devices.
• App improvement: To understand which features are most useful and fix bugs or usability issues.
• Notifications: To send streak reminders, daily quiz alerts, and level-up notifications (only if you've granted notification permission).
• Security: To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of our platform.
• Legal compliance: To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for third-party marketing, or any purpose not listed above.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Supabase (a backend-as-a-service platform) to store your account and progress data. Supabase processes data under our instructions and is contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
• Analytics: We may use anonymised, aggregated analytics (not linked to your identity) to understand app usage patterns.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority in India, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
• Business transfer: If FinLearn India is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before this happens.

Your data is stored on Supabase servers. We implement the following security measures:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS).
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
• Database access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies — you can only access your own data.
• We do not store payment or banking credentials of any kind.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

While we take security seriously, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

The FinLearn India website uses minimal cookies and browser local storage:

• Authentication tokens: To keep you logged in across sessions.
• Daily quiz state: We store whether you've answered today's quiz using AsyncStorage (on mobile) or localStorage (on web) so we don't show a completed quiz again.
• App preferences: Your onboarding choices and UI preferences may be cached locally for performance.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings, but doing so will log you out and reset your cached preferences.

Under applicable Indian privacy laws (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) and general data protection principles, you have the following rights:

• Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to deletion: Request that we delete your account and personal data. You can also delete your account directly from the app's Profile screen.
• Right to withdraw consent: You can withdraw consent for notifications at any time through your device settings.
• Right to portability: Request an export of your data in a readable format.
• Right to grievance redressal: If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, you can contact our grievance officer at privacy@finlearnindia.com. We will respond within 30 days.

FinLearn India is designed for users aged 15 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@finlearnindia.com and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

Users aged 13–17 should use FinLearn India with parental awareness. The app contains no inappropriate content and is designed to be safe for younger users.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Send a notification through the app to all registered users.
• For material changes, request your renewed consent where required by law.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of FinLearn India after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
